A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out

Every family who is selected as a Habitat for Humanity Partner Family must proceed through an application process and meet the following basic criteria:

Live or work in Isabella County for at least 6 months
Demonstrate a need for adequate housing
Meet HFHIC income guidelines
Demonstrate the ability to maintain mortgage payments and home insurance
Willing to partner with HFHIC and contribute 250 “sweat equity” hours per adult on the construction of the home
Learn and accept all responsibilities associated with home ownership
